What is Periodontics?
Periodontics is the dental specialty that focuses exclusively on diseases of the gums, and periodontists work to diagnose and treat this disease before it severely damages the gums and other supporting structures around the teeth.
Periodontists can treat a wide range of periodontal concerns, including gingivitis, periodontitis, and gum disease. If necessary, they can work with other dental specialists to determine a full treatment plan including gum disease treatment, oral surgery, and dental implants.
At Dental Associates, our periodontists are right down the hall from your general provider, so you won’t have to be referred to an outside dentist to receive the care you need. Whether you need gum disease treatment or dental implants, our providers will guide you through the whole process from the consultation all the way through post-operative care.
Gum Disease Treatment
If your periodontist decides that more in-depth treatment will be a part of your treatment plan, we will work with you to develop the best treatment for your individual case. Treatment options include cleaning the infected root surfaces, removing the damaged tissue, and performing regenerative procedures.
