Supra-eruption
What is Supra-eruption?
Supra-eruption, also known as over-eruption, occurs when a tooth continues to erupt beyond its normal position in the jaw, often due to the absence or loss of an opposing tooth. Without the pressure from an opposing tooth to keep it in place, the affected tooth may shift or extend into the empty space, potentially leading to alignment issues, bite problems, or discomfort. Supra-eruption can contribute to or exacerbate a collapsed arch. Addressing supra-eruption early is important to maintain proper dental function and avoid complications.
