There’s so much to discover living in Wisconsin!

There’s a reason travel and lifestyle writers often describe Wisconsin as “surprising.” Whether you prefer city life or small towns, sports and recreation or arts and culture, need a place to start your career or raise a family, Wisconsin has it all.

Climate

Living in Wisconsin CommunitiesNo, it’s not always winter here! Wisconsin is a four-season state, with breezy spring days, warm summers, and beautiful fall colors. When winter comes, we bundle up and enjoy skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, indoor waterparks and more!

Culture

No matter where you live in Wisconsin, you’ll find a rich history of arts and culture. Wisconsin is home to 200+ performing arts groups including the critically-acclaimed Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Milwaukee Ballet. You’ll also find art museums, galleries, and interactive cultural experiences all across the state. Enjoy original productions, classical theatre, or Shakespeare under the stars in one of our many outdoor theatres all summer long. Or join the thousands of music lovers who attend Summerfest, the world’s largest music festival, in July. In the winter, take in a Broadway show, check out a film festival, or visit one of our many museums.

Education

If you’re looking for a great place to raise a family, look no further. One of the biggest benefits of living in Wisconsin is our education system. Wisconsin schools are continuously applauded for quality, safety, and college readiness, with our high schools ranking fourth in the nation. At the college level, The University of Wisconsin system includes 26 campuses, including 13 two-year UW-Extension centers. In addition, our robust 16-campus technical college system and many private colleges educate students from across the U.S. and around the world.

Sports & Recreation

If you enjoy the outdoors, Wisconsin is the place to be. Ranked third in the country for the number of ski and snowboard resorts, you can find yourself on the slopes in about an hour no matter where you live. In the summer, enjoy Wisconsin’s ocean-like beaches on one of our two Great Lakes, miles of bike trails, the thrills of waterparks and amusement parks, exploring caves, rock climbing, kayaking, or just relaxing at one of our 70+ state parks.

For sports fans, Wisconsin is home to the Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers as well as minor league teams in baseball and hockey and the six-time MSL Champions - the Milwaukee Wave.
