Invisalign is often a preferred treatment option for those who want a discrete way to straighten teeth. While many patients recognize Invisalign, not many are familiar with Invisalign Go. What makes these two products different? In short, the difference comes down to the length of time, the severity of your case, and which provider you are seeing.
Invisalign
Invisalign clear aligners are typically offered by your orthodontist. This clear aligner therapy can be used to treat a wide range of cases ranging from very mild adjustments to severe cases of misalignment and crowding. Treatment time for Invisalign can variety from 15 weeks to 12+ months depending on the case and patient compliance.
Invisalign Go
This form of Invisalign may be offered by your orthodontist or general dentist to treat very mild cases of misalignment. Typically, patients have already undergone orthodontic care and have had a relapse (no longer wearing retainers aftercare) and have minor movement to adjust. Because there are very minor adjustments to be made, this form of clear aligner therapy is very quick and can be completed in 7-15 weeks depending on the case and compliance.
Which is best for me?
Each case is different and is dependent on patients following their care instructions. If you are looking to straighten your smile, reach out to your dentist for their recommendation.
